Had a day off work today, would have spent it in a buzzed fog or worse a potentially life threatening blackout… for myself and others… behind the wheel of a car. But, thanks to this program I will lay my head to rest tonight in peace. Thank you ALL for your support. I am grateful. No more Ground Hog Day for me! My future has so much promise without alcohols debilitating effects… despair, self loathing, deteriorating health, etc etc etc! With much gratitude from the USA, thank you again ALL!

Another good analogy. I worked in a hospice house and we had many kidney/liver failures. There was this one gentleman that scared me; he was so yellow. I would hate for that image to be the last one my family and friends
seen of me because of something I did to myself. Thank you for the eye opener once again!

I still think of that story now. It had a big impact on me at the time.

I loved this message. I have been sober for up to 3 months in the past but always get tempted by one thing or another and fall back. Currently alcohol free for 3 days. Imagining how I would feel the next day helped with cravings in the past. But I love the idea of playing out the entire experience step by step. And then adding the Dickens Technique for two different futures. Thanks so much. I am new here but so very glad I decided to participate in this program and support.

Use those 3 months. It’s great experience that will help you to see the benefits 🙂

    Kevin,
I love this video. Dickens method was a fantastic analogy. A read/play I do every year, so it is already powerful, now even more so. Can you share the link for the blog you mentioned? Sorry if you’ve already posted.
    Thank you!!

The name of the website was the immortal alcoholic. Its a bit of a scatty website, but that one post made a big difference to me. I’m not sure what the post was called.

looking into my future without and then with alcohol scared the heebeejeebies outta me. I have never been one to look into the future with much success but this story presents two very different scenarios for me. I haven’t had a drink for 8 days now and what a relief it is. I am enjoying your program so far Kevin, thank you.

I think that sometimes you should be anxious of the future. Not all anxiety is bad. It forces you to be mindful of what you’re doing and keeps you from making too many mistakes.

This is great. For a long time I wanted a different tomorrow, wanted to break free from the alcohol trap but always succumbed to the craving. The tools on ways to think about the moment of the ‘now’ helped me immensely. Thanks.

They are only ‘public’ as far as other members are concerned. Nobody who is not logged in can see them 🙂
Gradual change is the ticket… it’s a big change, just quitting alcohol drinking, then make small changes and see how they make you feel. If they are good, roll with them, if not so good, roll back a bit 🙂 Personal Evolving Now!

Not sure if these comments are ‘public’ or not.
I don’t see a massive difference in myself seeing into the future with or without drink.
My situation is not one of being a heavy drinker. But I have been drinking since I was about 16 I guess.
Without alcohol ? Perhaps the possibility of more change, of tackling all those parts of oneself that one knows/sees as chronic patterns which one wishes were different. Like more responsible attitude to money, not losing it and its accumulation.
The issue of what my relationship with my partner will be like is big… he being a regular moderate [to I would say, higher, but he would deny that] drinker. I would be interested in a forum ‘thread’ on this topic.
