It’s such a good thought to think I’ll be going back to work in January not trailing a hangover. If I wasn’t on this course, that would be the case for me.
I was just thinking the same thing. I didnβt drink yesterday and I had the best day at work. It was easy to get out of bed, I was organized, and in a good mood. Usually I struggle to wake up, shamble into work and spend the morning fighting my hangover.
Hi Kevin,
On your evening email when I clicked thru. The audio was for the same as morning video. Is this intentional or ????
I am keen to do this properly.
Thanks Alison
Thank you Kevin. I have FINALLY found a program that I relate to and I believe I can stop drinking with. Many yrs sober in AA, then drank the last 15 yrs. My body, life is hurting. Don’t want to “live” this way anymore. It is startling to be honest about what happens to the body/brain when consuming alcohol. Your coaching is exactly what I need now. Though it’s T-14 day for me, I have not drank for 4 days (unbelievable!), and I am 100% committed to not. So, I will follow along the preparation course, and reach for this set of guidelines/practices instead of wine. I can’t do it alone. Been trying desperately for the last 3 yrs.
Thank you Kevin for this great video ! It brings to light the issues of health and what our children see and copy ! The last thing I want is my son and daughter to have to struggle with such an ugly problem that I helped them into! I am committed to this program and have not drank for 4 days now and do not want to drink anymore !
Kevin, I really enjoy your talks. Love the forum also. I have learned so much about alcoholism, and you’re dead on about habits. Changing my daily habits got me on the road. Gave me the start I needed. I’m blessed in that, after drinking 325-500 mls. daily for last 5 years or so, I have been able to just stop. I’m always aware that I can pick it right back up. I think I shouldn’t challenge that demon. I have accepted that I have two speeds: drunk or sober. Sober is best. I don’t know why I’m not dead. Thank you again.
No such thing as the demon Gage. That’s a part of the alcoholic mysticism. We’ll wipe that one out for you… and calling yourself sober… but that’s for later π
Great video. Got me thinking. But what if after the T countdown I think Iβm in a good space to continue cutting back and limiting? Not sure I want to eliminate alcohol totally.
Good old moderation π It’s a battle you will fight until the end of your life. It’s not something I teach here. It’s akin to teaching how to cut back on cigarettes. You’ll hear it here again and again: The alcohol is never the problem. The real problem is living your life believing that the solution can be found in a pill or a bottle. Psychologically, it’s the biggest prison you will ever have.
Thank you for your words of wisdom. So true my liver and mind ! Cannon handle alcohol. I am very committed to begin tapering down and will do so tonight ! This i am hopeful will help abstaining more doable as I just could not do that. Love your comment about being mindful as I actually realize I donβt really like the taste nor the smell of wine. Thank you again
I really appreciate this video. For as short as it is, it’s got a big punch. 1/10th of a bottle of wine per hour is just a few sips. That’s all the liver can handle, and that’s why I’m so dang foggy. Thank you for this video, Kevin.
Glad you got something out of the video Lisa. Most of the time we don’t look closely at the things we are doing to or with ourselves, especially with habits that are totally ingrained in our culture.
It strikes me that the amount of alcohol the liver can handle per hour is not at all what i want. If I could have only that I will rather not drink at all as it would probably just make me tired or constantly wanting more.
Kevin,
thank you for this video with words about the example we are to our children.
BTW, I love how the rain sounds are like helping wash away my past habits
Today was easier than I thought it would be. Thank you for the support.

Great video. I am getting more hopeful that I can follow through with the 14 days of the introduction.
Thanks for the great content.
I’ve very glad you like it π

That’s right Laci. That’s the drug affect…tolerance. The more you drink, your body naturally gets used to it and wants more for the same buzz

That’s a really good way of looking at it π
