Calling alcohol POISON makes so much sense! Sipping POISON by a camp fire, while watching the sunset, with dinner, etc. sounds CRAZY! Calling alcohol what it is, a poisonous neurotoxin, will ruin any nostalgic thinking that may creep in! Thank you 😊
Good morning! It’s 5 days post my BIG breakup with a very toxic, on again off again, relationship I’ve settled for for years! I’ve FINALLY realized the poison isn’t good enough for me, not now, not tomorrow, not next week, not EVER! The poison has been the only thing holding me back from actualizing my dreams… having everything I ever wanted in life, but sadly I couldn’t let it go forever, until now! I’ve intuitively known for years that TRUE happiness is on the other side of this VERY BAD HABIT! Honoring my body, my mind, and SPIRIT feels so good! I’ve had countless day fives before… this one is different! I feel liberated, hopeful, grateful…!!! It’s with your support that I know the breakup is for good this time! Thank you ALL (I read EVERY comment) for giving me my beautiful life back! Onward and upwards❤️
Hi Kevin, agree totally with affirmations as daily positive reinforcement eventually sticks. Everyday when I wake up I simply say “I’m not drinking today” with a smile on my face 😁 and use this saying when I am out for a meal or with family and friends who are drinking. It deals with the present and takes away any pressure or fear of the future without alcohol. Everytime I see my sleep score in the 80’s or 90’s on my Fitbit I say that’s because I did not drink today and the same goes for the scales when weighing in each week and seeing the pounds drop off.
Funny fact – ‘Just do it’, the Nike slogan, according to mr. Dan Wieden, (co-founder of Wieden+Kennedy advertisement agency) the slogan was inspired by Gary Gillmore’s last words. Gary Gillmore was an american criminal famous for demanding to be executed for two murders he committed. I know it has nothing to do with what the video is about, but it just amazing, what can you find when you dig a little deeper.
“Eyes above. Rise Above!” has been my mantra for the last couple of months.
It’s helping me keep my eyes off the crap that’s going on around me, and now that I’m on this journey, it means ever so more.
It’s helping me focus on what I do want versus the momentary temptations that lead to instant gratification, shame and regret.
Watched a recent movie ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ (good movie) and a line in there that stuck with me. ‘Where your eyes are that is where your car will go.” So too with our journey. Focus on the truth of the alcohol trap and its devastation its caused helps me at the moment to stay focused on where I want to go and grow stronger each time. Great video!

Hi Kevin, I like
I’m changing my habits by what I do every day.
It gives me hope that what I’m dealing with is a habit, and that I can finally change it. It seems less daunting.
That’s the idea. Big change is all about how you present it to yourself, how you sell it to yourself even. 🙂
have lost all need for alcohol!! But, also have learned some of my ‘triggers’. That has helped alot….
That’s great to hear Gage
